Ulrich Brassel studied musical education and German literature as well as choral and orchestral conducting and piano in Cologne and Detmold. Between 1985 and 1996, Ulrich was busy as choral conductor and church musician in the former capital of Bonn. In that time, he regularly gave concerts at the organ and as conductor of soloist ensembles, choirs and orchestras. Since 1996, Ulrich works as a teacher for music and German literature at the Pius-Gymnasium in Aachen, where he also founded the Pius Big Band in the same year, of which he still is the director today. As a composer and arranger, he brought to the stage several musical plays. Since 2006, Ulrich trains music teachers on their jobs at the Center for practical school teacher training Aachen.
